From a review written in 2014:
Im sure if I really thought about it, I could easily fault 22 Jump Street, second in the recent reboot of the 1987 TV series. But I dont want to think about it, cause I had a good time and thats how I choose to remember it.
To Hell with what so-called professional critics are saying, 22 Jump Street is not dumb. Its actually pretty bloody smart. Its not particularly deep. Or thought-provoking. Or fresh. Or original. Or mature. Or cultured. Or subtle But it is smart! And funny. Which for a comedy is more important than anything else.
22 Jump Street is very aware of itself, and that can be a tough line to walk, but I think it just managed to get right, brining in some serious meta-humour rather...
