Never steal from the world's greatest thief.

Master thief Will Montgomery is just released from the State penitentiary after serving a 10 year sentence, is contacted by Vincent, his ex comrade in crime, who is holding Will’s teenage daughter ransom in a hijacked taxi cab. Vincent will only surrender her when Will reveals the whereabouts of the 20 million dollars he contrived to conceal from their last robbery.

    Stolen (2012) is a solid, straightforward action thriller that delivers exactly what it promises. Nicolas Cage is in his element here, bringing his usual intensity to a role that keeps the stakes high and the energy flowing. The movie doesnt try to be revolutionary, it leans into familiar tropes like desperate missions and a ticking clock, but it does so in a way that keeps you entertained. The New Orleans backdrop adds a bit of flair, even if its not fully utilized, and Simon Wests direction ensures the pacing rarely drags.

    While the story feels predictable at times, the action sequences are well-executed, and the performances, especially Cages, keep the film engaging. The villain might feel a bit over-the-top, but it fits the movies to...
