David Mitchell was fantastic in the comedy series "Upstart Crow", a light hearted, often insightful and extremely funny, re imagining of the life of William Shakespeare.
"Ludwig' offers Mitchell a platform that's eccentric, intriguing and often clever but barely funny. This series hold together extremely well as a crime drama with complex puzzle, sleuthing overtones but I hardly found it amusing.Showing again and again, how Mitchell's character can't park a car but can solve complex crimes, is an interesting contrast, for example, but its not chuckle worthy on any level.
In summary, by all means watch this series spanning an initial six episodes, for its clever puzzle, sleuthing elements but don't expect the kind of comedic elements ...
