The Immortal, for me, is reminiscent of series like Gomorrah, with a Spanish, rather than an Italian flavour.
Its equally downbeat and gritty, like its Italian counterpart but with even more of a working class vibe. There's a very strong, poor boy, makes good back story, with the key character rising socially, as he rises criminally, in the underworld, of Madrid. Money and celebrity, of a kind, can buy you almost everything. Yet, as this series demonstrates, it can't change who you are.
This series offers up credible characterisations and quality narrative. Backed by strong acting. Its easy to get drawn in, to empathise with the circumstances, both personal and economic, that motivates The Immortal and his partners in crime, to do wh...
