Biography

Loyd Doron is a Filipino filmmaker who moved to New Zealand to study film. His passion for filmmaking began after winning a smartphone filmmaking competition by the Goethe-Institut New Zealand and the Mobile Innovation Network and Association which involved a film workshop and world premiere screening in Wellington in 2019. His expertise is in cinematography but he has also directed short films on topics that tackle social issues such as poverty, climate change, mental health, and gender-based violence in the Philippines.
