Solomon Bowden is Cornish filmmaker who grew up in a council house in the town of Newquay. The rise of the Cornish filmmaking movement, particularly the fiercely independent work of Mark Jenkin, inspired Bowden’s career as a writer and director. Bowden prides himself on making films in Cornwall, and infuses his storytelling with experiences of his upbringing and the local culture. He crowdfunded his micro-budget first film Lady, What’s Tomorrow (2024), working primarily with first time actors and shot on location in Bowden’s hometown.
