Art Robinson was Westgate Speedway’s inaugural 6-Cylinder feature champion when it opened in 1967, and remained so for 1968, 1969, and 1970 plus became a Diamond feature champion in 1970. Notably on July 10, 1974, "The Canadian Statesman" in Bowmanville reported: "The first indefinite suspension was handed out to driver Art Robinson of Whitby, when he started using his fists on another driver after a mishap at the conclusion of the Diamond Class Division involving three cars."
