Biography

Cà Rốt was born and raised in Sài Gòn, Việt Nam. From a young age, she explored various forms of art as an outlet for self-expression. At 15, she and her family moved to Canada, where she embraced her Queerness and Transgender identity for the first time. At 16, she purchased her first digital camcorder on Kijiji and began documenting the people and events in her life. Since enrolling in the Film program at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2022, Cà Rốt has made it her mission to push the boundaries of filmmaking.
