Biography

Son of Giuseppina and Raffaele Bassani, born on July 31, 1902 in Imola, Emilia-Romagna, Italy; residing there in 1943. 4th grade. Construction worker. Member of the PCI since 1921, he was part of Imola's Communist Youth. Arrested, he was temporarily released on May 2, 1927 from prison for lack of evidence, after being subjected to an act of submission. With the sentence of June 13, 1927 he was acquitted without further proceeding.
