Camilo Berstecher Barrero

Camilo Berstecher Barrero is a German-Colombian filmmaker, photographer, and art activist based in Saarbrücken. He studied Cultural Studies at Saarland University and earned his Master’s degree in Media Art & Design at the Saar Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under documentary filmmaker Sung-Hyung Cho. His first feature-length documentary, Die Kundin, premiered at DOK.fest Munich in 2021 and was later adapted for television as Marlies Krämer, die sanfte Rebellin, broadcast by Saarländischer Rundfunk. Berstecher Barrero is an active member of the international artist collective Spielwerk and is involved in various film and art projects.
