Gaye Adegbalola (born Gaye Todd; March 21, 1944) is an American blues singer, guitarist, educator, and activist. She rose to prominence as a founding member of Saffire – The Uppity Blues Women (1984–2009), touring internationally and earning a Blues Music Award for “Middle Age Blues Boogie.” Adegbalola was a recognized science teacher before turning to music full-time and has since released multiple solo albums, taught workshops, and been honored for her contributions to music and social justice, including being named one of the Virginia Women in History.
