Room for Rent presents a compelling premise rooted in emotional vulnerability, as a lonely widow, Joyce, opens her home to strangers for income, only to reveal darker intentions. Despite strong performancesespecially from Lin Shaye, who chillingly embodies Joycethe film falls short in exploring key character backgrounds and delivers its conflict too late. With eerie atmosphere, fitting cinematography, and unsettling tension, it manages to remain engaging, though it could benefit from tighter pacing and deeper narrative detail.
