The Legend of 5 Mile Cave

It kind of reminded me of being a kid again. Cowboys, a mystery, some of the things the child in me would have loved. And then, on top of it, was a narration that reminded me of childhood classics like The Boy Who Could Fly, Radio Flyer, Sandlot, The Princess Bride, all the movies that kids from the 80s knew and loved.

And the best part is that it's a pure light film. It's not dark, it's not cynical, it doesn't force political morality designed to paint it's target audience as evil or shame the things they like... it's just a light fun film.

The good guys are good. The bad guys are bad. Mystery, action, suspense. The characters are developed, they aren't stereotyped created to force an agenda.

In 1929, a man shows up at a farm in Kentucky thats facing foreclosure (Adam Baldwin). The widow allows him to stay in the barn in exchange for work (Jill Wagner) while her boy bonds with the mysterious man. The kid is especially interested in his true-story about outlaw gunslinger Shooter Green (Jeremy Sumpter) from 1887 Arizona.
