Japanese Movies that Kicked my Butt

These are my 250 favorite movies in chronological order i.e. the movies I enjoyed the most watching, not necessarily the movies I considered "the best" artistically or else (even though, for me, a lot of these movies fall into that category as well).

Obviously this is very subjective, but for a reason or another, these movies impressed me, be it for their script (originality or cleverness of the text), original way to approach (or revisit) a subject, performance, direction, photography, cinematography, etc. and, of course, the entertainment value!

Please note that this is a "living" list, so as I watch a lot of movies, it will most likely be updated sporadically :)
