Kalari Kid – She Hits Back

Storyline

In a society marked by gender-based violence, Arushi (9) and Milena (21) reclaim their place with the help of Kalari, the world's oldest martial art. The film Kalari Kid shows their path to emancipation and freedom, so that one day they can be the women they want to be. They are new heroines in a country where violence against women is a historical and everyday reality. In their shared struggle to find their place in society and break with tradition, religion and origin play no role. These women look to a future they want to shape for the better with grace and determination. They take their lives into their own hands – and they do so with a centuries-old martial art.
