This film, in two parts, is considered a cultural work admirably embodied by Alice Sapritch. Catherine de Médicis was often describe as a kind a witch. In that version she is presented as a political character looking to bring France together. The acting is fine but a little too theatrical to me giving the impression to watch a play more than a movie. Despite this the movie is enjoyable to watch.
