Salida Fest is the annual flagship event of UP Salida that aims to establish the presence of Mindanao in the cinephilic landscape through the showcase of Mindanaoan films, amplification of Mindanaoan narratives, and empowerment of Mindanaoan filmmakers. Moreover, Salida Fest is envisioned to be the official film festival of UP Mindanao led by its own filmmaking organization, UP Salida. 

As a recognized organization by the Film Development Council of the Philippines under the Academic Film Society, UP Salida aims to uphold the values and standards to be instilled in Salida Fest as a Mindanao-based student film festival. As an avenue for the filmmakers of Mindanao to tell their stories through film, Salida Fest is open for all high school and college students within the area of Mindanao. All who qualify are encouraged to submit their film for competition and exhibition under the curation of the film festival. The theme for this year is “ISTORYAHE!: Mga Handumanang Nagkandaiya”.
