To fabulate about the possible discovery of José Martí's voice by a thief, a former cosmonaut, who tries to sell it, is to enter into a critical questioning of the current Cuban reality: Where is Cuba going as a nation? What is our future? The end of the short film reinforces our idea that the country's destiny is based on the rescue and preservation of our traditional values and the historical legacy of our nation: Martí's voice is buried in a time capsule in a schoolyard by the protagonist's son, to be found a hundred years from now by the children of the future. The title of the short film, The Broken Space, refers to the poem by Martí with which the story begins as the images of the universe follow one after another: "A los espacios" ...
